Minimum Entry Requirements


Navy Generic Requirements

To qualify you will need to meet the minimum basic requirements listed below, as well as specific requirements for your chosen trade. In order to be considered a more competitive applicant, we recommend exceeding these requirements where possible.

You must:

  • Be a minimum of 17 years of age

  • Be medically fit for service

  • Be of good character – assessed by a study of your testimonials and a police record check

  • Be a New Zealand citizen or have permanent residency and have lived in New Zealand for a minimum of five years.

* A BE, a B.Tech or a Dip Eng is offered.
