“I have always been interested in the military and when this job came up I took the opportunity to apply straight away.
In my role I have two administration gurus’ (bosses) I help assist. My role consists of processing minutes, personnel enquiries and filling, reconciling credit card statements, and general office duties such as stationery, vehicle bookings/conference bookings and mail distribution. There is such a variety of jobs to do and new things to learn, that’s the best part about this job… always learning and obtaining new skills.
I am also a fitness trainer outside of work hours I run boot camps three times a week. Fitness is a big hobby of mine so my hours are perfect for my other activities and casual work. I’ve always liked admin positions as the job is never ending there is always something to do and new to learn. Also I like knowing the fact that with out having admin staff the business would not survive, being apart of that makes me happy.
There are many benefits working for the Defence Force. I love how I get to take part in sport during my lunch break and I get free access to the gym facilities on base. It’s rewarding to be working in a community that will take care of you for the work you do for them.”
